The Southern California Section of Institute of Food Technologists honors Randy Kreienbrink, CFS, with its 2024 Distinguished Achievement Award. Mr. Kreienbrink was nominated by his peers and selected by SCIFTS for his dedication, unique service to SCIFTS and National IFT, and supreme effort on behalf of the food industry and its related businesses. This yearly award honors an individual who has provided continuing and meritorious service to the food science and technology industry, particularly in the southwest United States. 

Join Randy Kreienbrink for his review of SCIFTS over the last 40 years and a preview into the next 40 years – 2064! It’s a humorous, sometimes dark, but always fun perspective of the Southern California IFT Section with a who’s who cast of real characters. Starting back at the 1984 Los Angeles Olympics, to the future 2028 Olympics, and beyond.

Mr. Kreienbrink’s experience, strength, hope, and humor is related to his two terms as SCIFTS Co-Chair, 20 years as the SCIFTS Newsletter Editor, four-time Member at Large, College Bowl Judge, Speaker, IT zoom-master during the COVID pandemic, and yes – even chauffeur to the food science elite.
